Hyattsville is a vibrant, diverse, and growing community, and I am running for the Ward 5 City Council seat because I believe in a future where every resident feels empowered, safe, and connected. My vision is to ensure that Hyattsville continues to thrive by advocating for policies that put our community first—policies that enhance public education, promote community-centered public safety, advance environmental sustainability, and strengthen accessibility and inclusion for all.
As a longtime advocate for education, I know that investing in our schools and young people is investing in the future of our city. That’s why I will work to increase school funding, expand after-school programs, and bridge the digital divide so that every child in Ward 5 has access to the resources they need to succeed.
Public safety should be built on trust, collaboration, and care. I support a community-first approach to safety that includes increased mental health crisis response resources, stronger neighborhood watch programs, and greater engagement between law enforcement and residents to build lasting relationships of trust.
Hyattsville must also be a leader in environmental sustainability. I will advocate for green infrastructure projects such as rain gardens and solar initiatives, and the expansion of bike lanes and walkable neighborhoods.
True representation means ensuring that all voices in our community are heard and valued. That means making our city services more accessible for people with disabilities, enhancing language access services for non-English speakers, and creating more opportunities for residents to participate in local decision-making through regular town halls and listening sessions.
I am running for City Council because I believe in a progressive, community-driven future for Ward 5. Together, we can build a more inclusive, sustainable, and empowered community. I hope to earn your support so that we can turn this vision into action - together.
