My deep commitment to supporting education and youth development is reflected in my service on the Hyattsville Education Advisory Committee. In this role, I consistently voted to advance funding for our Educational Advancement Grants, which have empowered local schools and community organizations to launch impactful programs. These grants have supported arts and humanities initiatives, environmental education projects for young students, and countless innovative efforts that enrich learning experiences and foster creativity.
By prioritizing these investments, I’ve helped nurture a generation of young people who are engaged, informed, and ready to make a difference. As your next city councilman, I will continue to champion policies that expand educational opportunities, strengthen our schools, and provide families with the support they need to succeed.

Every resident deserves to feel safe in their neighborhood. I am committed to working collaboratively with community members, local law enforcement, and city leaders to implement public safety strategies that are proactive, inclusive, and community driven. This includes investing in better lighting and safer streets, supporting mental health resources and crisis intervention programs, and promoting community policing initiatives that build trust and accountability.
Public safety also means addressing root causes of crime by expanding youth engagement programs, improving access to social services, and fostering economic opportunities. Together, we can create a safer Hyattsville where everyone feels secure and supported.

Growing up living with a disability gives me a unique perspective on what Hyattsville, and specifically Ward 5, needs to be accessible to all. Every resident, regardless of ability, should be able to fully participate in our community. I will work to ensure that public spaces, transit systems, and city services are accessible to all, while championing programs that address the unique needs of seniors and individuals with disabilities.

I am committed to enhancing the democratic process in Hyattsville by advocating for the implementation of Ranked Choice Voting (RCV) in our city elections. RCV allows voters to rank candidates in order of preference, ensuring that elected officials have broad support from the community.

I am committed to enhancing the democratic process in Hyattsville by advocating for the implementation of Ranked Choice Voting (RCV) in our city elections. RCV allows voters to rank candidates in order of preference, ensuring that elected officials have broad support from the community.
Our neighboring city, Takoma Park, has successfully utilized RCV since 2007 for its municipal elections. This system has led to more representative outcomes and increased voter engagement. For example, in the 2024 Takoma Park City Election, RCV was effectively used to elect officials, demonstrating its practicality and benefits.
In Hyattsville, discussions about adopting RCV have gained momentum. In late August 2024, Councilmembers Schaible, Waszczak, and Denes submitted a nonbinding referendum to gauge public opinion on implementing RCV in the 2025 municipal election.
If elected to represent Ward 5 on the Hyattsville City Council, I will champion legislation to implement RCV for all city elections. This initiative aims to ensure that our electoral process is more inclusive, fair, and reflective of the diverse voices in our community.
